The waiting is over — and the rewards of a successful high school career are in.
Michael McCarthy received word yesterday that he was accepted at his 1st choice school: Washington University in St. Louis. The goalkeeper joins midfielder Alan Reiter (North Carolina State University) and forward Mike White (University of Delaware), who finalized their college plans earlier this season.
“It’s unusual to have so many players know so early where they’re going for sure,” said head coach Dan Woog. “It’s great for them. All 3 have chosen schools with strong programs and excellent coaching — and where they will have to work hard, but will make an impact. We don’t have longstanding relationships with any of these schools, but we look forward to strengthening our ties thanks to what I know will be Michael, Alan and Mike’s successes.”
