Current And Former Player Celebrate FCIAC Championship

Harry Birch (left), a sophomore, is a varsity defender.  His brother George is a former Staples defender who was forced to retire following several injuries and shoulder operations.  Last night they celebrated the Wreckers’ FCIAC championship at the Sherwood Diner, with players and Superfans.

George is actually not that pale.  He painted his face and chest as part of Staples fans’ now-traditional “whiteout” at big soccer games.

Last night’s crowd at Norwalk’s Testa Field was estimated at nearly 2,000.
