Dan Donovan ’82 Honors Doug Donovan ’79

Every year around prom and graduation time, TAG — Staples’ Teen Awareness Group — raises community awareness about drunk driving.

This year TAG produced a video. Real Westporters — ranging from high school students to Staples grads and parents — describe what drunk driving did to friends and relatives.

And themselves.

One of the most moving segments involves Dan Donovan ’82. The former Staples and Lehigh University captains describes the devastating effects of his older brother Doug ’79’s death on the entire Donovan family.

The effects, it is clear, linger today.

  1. Thank you Dan for your sincere love and sharing of a horrible tragedy to our family. I pray all my grandchildren see this video and listen. I personally know how drinking alcohol and doing drugs destroy the lives of our loved ones and those around them.
