Plans are underway for a great Alumni Day. It’s Saturday, September 22; the Wreckers host Wilton (12 noon, Loeffler Field). This should be a key game — and all soccer alumni (and their families) are invited to join the fun.
There will be cider and doughnuts at the terrace before the match, and grinders and chips afterward. If there’s enough interest (and healthy players), we’ll organize a small-sided mini-tournament on Loeffler Field after the varsity game. (Alumni’s kids are welcome to play too.)
That evening, we’re planning a social event — possibly a cookout. That’s where we’ll recognize members of the 1981 and ’82 state championship teams. Hard to believe it’s been 30 years.
Alumni Day chairman Matt Lamb ’07 has created a Facebook page (click here, or search for “Staples Soccer Alumni Day”).
If you’re interested in helping organize one of the events — or can volunteer to track down and invite former teammates — please email email@example.com.
See you on The Hill!
